What does the moodboard process mean to you?
To me, it’s taking images, patterns, textures, type and colors and organizing them specifically to evoke a certain feeling. Basically, it visually sums up the “gist” of a feeling, project or idea.
The name itself is relatively new to me, but the concept is one I’ve had a penchant for since I was little. From middle school binder covers made from magazine cut-outs, to framed collages, to the inspiration boards decorating my room right now--collecting and classifying things has always been a passion of mine. And let's not even get started on my Pinterest boards…
Anyway, back to today and modern pastels. These two concepts clash and contrast, yet somehow work together. The subdued pastel colors convey a softness that offsets the boldness of more modern design--creating a balance I love.
