Indian Summer (noun): Literally, a period of unusually warm weather occurring in the fall, or figuratively, a happy or flourishing period occurring toward the end of something.
...also known as "fall" in the South. Maybe it's just me, but we seem to bypass the traditional autumn season here every year, heading straight from summer heat to winter cold. Warm weather is my favorite by far, but it sure would be nice to see some leaves change for once, no?
I hope you enjoy your day! Don't forget to take some time to remember the events of September 11th--the lives that were lost, the survivors, their families and those whose lives were changed forever.
Do you experience drastically different seasons where you live? I'd love to hear!
