Granola is one of my favorite foods to make from scratch for two reasons:

  1. It’s simple to make and very hard to mess up. A crucial combination for those who are cooking-averse like myself.
  2. It’s much healthier than the store-bought versions which are often laden with sugar and chock full of hidden “mystery” ingredients. When you make granola at home, you are in full control what ingredients it contains and can therefore tailor it to your taste and make it better for your body.

Usually, I cook a double batch, keep half in a mason jar and freeze the rest. One of my best friend’s moms shared that trick with me—granola freezes wonderfully! Who knew?

I hope you enjoy—let me know if you test it out!
